Norwegian Diplomacy Championship 2003
at Arcon 19, 27-29 July
Oslo, NorwayTHE TOP BOARD:
Back row l-r: William Attia (E), Erlend Janbu (F), Simen F. Jørgensen (R), Mikal Lanes (G).
Front l-r: Rune Krogh (A), Yann Clouet (T), Frank Johansen (I).
Before play at the top board commenced, the participants played a little game in its own right.
The rules are simple:
1. The one with the highest qualification score gets to select order first. Then next highest.
The one with the lowest qualification score gets what's left over (usually 7).
2. Then Powers are selected according to this order.
Why? The selection order is then used as a tie-breaker at the end of the game. The one to
select power later will place before the one who selected earlier. At this top board it
sorted out the following way:
Player Name Qualification Score Selected Order Selected Power Erlend Janbu 107,00 1 France William Attia 99,00 4 England Mikal Lanes 86,50 2 Germany Simen F. Jørgensen 86,00 3 Russia Rune Krogh 76,25 5 Austria Yann Clouet 75,75 6 Turkey Frank Johansen 75,00 7 Italy
